What: Adult Cross Country Skiing Lessons, Beginner to Intermediate Skate and Classic

Who: Anyone ages 15 & Up. All abilities are welcome.

Where: Birch Hill Recreation Area & UAF Ski Trails

When: January 5th through March 8th (each class schedule varies)

Session 2 Class Schedule:

Classes are one hour in length and run for 4 weeks

Beginner Classic Skiing- For those who have very little experience with cross country skiing. This class will learn additional techniques on varied terrain so you can be more confident on any trail.

2 - 3pm Sundays @ Birch Hill • January 11 - February 1 (Instructor: Alex)

2 - 3pm Sundays @ Birch Hill • February 8 - March 1 (Instructor: Alex)

6 - 7pm Wednesdays @ UAF • January 7 - 28 (Instructor: Bruce)

6 - 7pm Wednesdays @ UAF • February 4 - 25 (Instructor: Bruce)

Intermediate Classic Skiing- For people who have taken beginner classes or have quite a bit of experience skiing on their own. Skiers should be comfortable skiing on all terrain (up hills, flats and downhills).

Beginner Skate Skiing- For those who have very little to no experience with skate skiing. Ideally, participants will have tried classic skiing before taking a skate lesson.

5:45 - 6:45pm Thurs @ Birch Hill • February 5 - 26 (Instructor: Wells)

Advanced Technique** - For people who have taken intermediate/advanced classes or have lots of experience skiing on their own, possibly with FXC Masters or other club programs. Skiers should be comfortable and able to ski on all terrain (up hills, flats and downhills) including all trails at Birch Hill. Class will alternate between skate and classic techniques. Price for 10 sessions: $250

5:45 - 6:45 pm Thursdays @ Birch Hill • Class begins Nov 13th - Dec 11th

** Class includes 4 sessions in Winter Session I and 6 sessions in Winter Session II same time and day. Weeks of class in Winter Session II will be determined by instructor in Winter Session II, but continue 5:45-6:45pm on Thursdays.

**Option to join for only Winter Session 2 for $150.
